Kristen White, BAS, CVT

Kristen has been working in the veterinary field for over 30 years, and has been at the Animal and Bird Hospital of Clearwater in Florida since 1993.

Kristen completed her Bachelors degree in veterinary technology at St. Petersburg College in May of 2010 and teaches Small Breeds and Behavior at St. Petersburg College now. Kristen is also the practice manager at the Animal and Bird Hospital. Kristen’s love of animal behavior is evident to her clients and their pets as she teaches puppy training classes, basic obedience classes, assists in the practice behavior cases and completed extra training to become a veterinary certified fear free professional.

Kristen is a past President for the Society of Veterinary Behavior Technicians

Kristen is also a mentor trainer for students of the Animal Behavior College and an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator.

She has given several lectures about canine behavior and clicker training and has also had several articles about animal behavior published. She has also spoken to the Suncoast Avian Society about captive bird behavior and clicker training.

In 2004, Kristen attended the 3 day Small Animal Behavior course at University of Georgia. Then in 2005, she attended both the 5 day spring DOGS! Course and the 3 Day Fall Dogs and Cats course at Purdue University.

In 2006, she lectured and offered a wet-lab at the Society of Veterinary Behavior Technicians/Jefferson College continuing education meeting on puppy classes.

She recently complete the ‘Fear Free’ Course and is now a fear free certified professional.

She has 2 German Shepherd Dogs, a French Bulldog, a Quaker Parrot, a Guinea Pigs, a Rat and a Leopard Gecko.
